RODGERS INTRODUCES NEW ORGANS
Rodgers Instruments LLC is making its revolutionary Masterpiece Series organs available in two new versions, and has unveiled new smaller full specification organs to enlarge the Rodgers platform.
Among the exciting new products are a Prelude Edition of the popular two- and three-manual tab stop organs in the Masterpiece Series. Prelude Edition consoles offer the same stunning sound, cutting-edge technology, pipe compatibility and immense range of custom options as Masterpiece Series, but at a lower price point. The Prelude Edition will expand to selected models in the Masterpiece line.
In addition, Rodgers introduced the Masterpiece Series Medallion Edition. Medallion organs feature wooden keyboards, stunning filled finishes, a piston sequencer, fresh samples from prestigious pipe organ installations, and 100 internal memory levels for organist registrations. Like Prelude, the Medallion configuration will be offered in various console sizes.
For organists desiring an instrument for smaller spaces, with easy operation and a simple stoplist, the non-AGO Model 538 is a two-manual organ with compact 27-note pedalboard as well as top-quality orchestral sounds and beautiful flute tremulants for gospel music. The 538 runs on a powerful new technology platform that offers outstanding sound, tremendous flexibility and extensive onboard voicing possibilities.
With a similar technology platform to the Model 538, Rodgers also introduced the Insignia Model 548 full-sized console organ built in its Hillsboro, Oregon factory. The new Insignia organ has powerful advantages of superior sound, appearance and musical flexibility over other available instruments in its price range.
Two special highlights of the evening were his new arrangement of "The Navy Hymn - Eternal Father Strong To Save" and an absolutely stunning rendition of "The William Tell Overture" utilizing the organ's extensive MIDI capabilities, with full orchestration.
St. Mark's received extensive damage as a result of a tornado which tore through Columbus, Georgia last spring. Tadlock and Associates installed this new organ, with 8 channels of stereophonic sound eminating through a double audio system utilizing Rodgers largest sub-woofer cabinets.

“Promoting the Appreciation and Enjoyment of the Arts”
Dear Mr. Denecke,
We appreciate so much the willingness of your company to provide the organ. Colonel Haliday, the commanding officer of the Albany Marine Corp Base, was a speaker. He commented several times on the number of people who attended and the tremendous talent in our small community. There were over five hundred people in attendance. The choir consisted of around seventy volunteers who presented the patriotic program, ”One Nation, Under God”, a beautiful and stirring musical tribute to our patriotic heritage. We recognized veterans and service men who are currently serving our country. As you well know, the versatility of your organ allowed us to have all types of musical accompaniment from drum rolls to bagpipes. Bob did an outstanding job of showcasing your organ.
Thank you again for providing the organ. Your company is so appreciated by our art council and our community. First Baptist Church feels that one of our wisest decisions was to purchase a Rodgers Organ from Tadlock & Associates. The support your company provides through Bob for our church and community can not be matched.
Sincerely,
Gloria Pylant
President, Turner County Arts Council
Albany Georgia Teen Attends Organ Camp
Ethan Evans of Albany, Georgia was one of six teen-agers selected from across the United States and Canada to have been awarded a full scholarships by Rodgers Instruments to study organ at the International Music Camp (IMC). Ethan is a member of First Baptist Church of Albany which uses a 3 manual Rodgers Organ with expanded MIDI ,each week in worship. Bob Hupka is the area manager for Tadlock & Associates.
IMC's Organ Week, which began in 2004, is a popular program that introduces young keyboard and piano players to the "King of Instruments." For one week, the students reside at the scenic camp on the U.S.-Canada border, following a daily schedule of private instruction, music history, music fundamentals and practice time. By the end of the week, organ instructor Peggy Bartunek says students are typically ready to give a recital for other students, and many are ready to return to their home churches and accompany congregational hymn singing on the organ.
"Organ Week accomplishes two goals at once: It shows students how to apply their existing keyboard skills to one of the world's greatest instruments, and it helps churches meet a growing need for someone who can play the organ," says Jennifer Brandlon, Manager of Marketing Services for Rodgers. Rodgers worked with the International Music Camp to create Organ Week as a way of helping to develop the next generation of organists.
Each year, Rodgers supplies instruments and faculty as well as scholarships for Organ Week. The scholarship competition is open to school-age musicians worldwide. The International Music Camp is located in the International Peace Garden on the border between North Dakota and Manitoba.
Concert In Tallahassee
Richard Myers, C.A.G.O., delighted the congregation of Tallahassee Heights United Methodist Church with a concert on their 3 manual Rodgers Classic Organ. Beginning with Soler's "Emperor's Fanfare" which showed the organ's fiery reed division, he performed a program filled with a variety sound colors and textures. Siegfrid Karg-Elert's "Harmonies du Soir" was a thrilling l tonal piece that musically portrayed a beautiful sunset that ended with stars twinkling in the dark sky. The concert began with several traditional organ selections, while the second half included some magnificent arrangements of favorite hymn tunes. The audience was thrilled with the outstanding performance and confirmed their choice in selecting the new Rodgers Organ. Several folks gathered around the organ after the program to learn about how Richard utilized MIDI in some of his selections.
The Allegiant series now comprises two-manual and three-manual consoles in both tab and drawknob versions. All four of the consoles can be customized with a variety of wood color finishes and trim options.
Like all models in the Allegiant line, the new instrument also gives organists an easy, piston-operated record-and-playback system, four built-in specifications, double expression and crescendo pedals, high-quality Roland orchestral sounds, and a USB memory stick to save registrations and recordings. Each console is capable of being interfaced to play winded pipes as well as digital voices.
Duane Kuhn, Vice President for Sales & Marketing, called the Allegiant series "the most competitive products ever seen in this part of the organ market" and a significant step forward toward Rodgers' goal of supporting worship with the best products available for churches of every size.
"These organs make it possible for a congregation to sing its song of praise in any church setting and in any desired worship style," Mr. Kuhn said. "The tremendous flexibility in the product truly provides support for ‘worship without limits.'"
"When we redesigned the Allegiant organs, we wanted to give the organist much greater tonal resources while increasing the realism of pipe sound quality at the same time," said Product Manager Dan Miller. "We did it by bringing together the Dimensional Sound Modeling technology from Masterpiece organs with the flexibility of four voice choices for every stop, with the ability to use all the sounds in any combination."
New Three Manual Organ
Rodgers Instruments introduced a new three-manual organ with tab controls at this year's NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show that completes its innovative Allegiant line of moderately priced, highly flexible classical organs.
The Model 688 is the tab version of the best-selling drawknob console, the Allegiant Model 698 (formerly Model 778). Both organs have 184 organ stops, 50 internal orchestral sounds, and a complete combination action with 30 general and divisional pistons.
Hector Olivera seated at the new Allegiant 688 three-manual organ at the NAMM show. Bob Hupka (standing) enjoyed watching Hector play.
Recently, our small community hosted a patriotic program that was truly outstanding. One of the main contributors to our success was Bob Hupka, your sales representative in our area. Bob not only arranged with your company to exhibit two organs, he played one of the organs for the program.
